Camden has a Select Board/Town Manager form of government. The Town Manager is the chief administrative officer of the Town, responsible to the Select Board for the management of all Town affairs as provided for in the Town Charter. The Manager, working with individual department directors, is also responsible for the performance of the Town departments.

The administration of this office includes the Town Manager Audra Caler and the Assistant Town Manager Janice Esancy. This office also serves as the contact point for the Town Attorney.  All inquiries for the Town Attorney must go through the Town Manager. Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests must go through the Town’s FOIA Officer, Janice Esancy, and can be completed here.

The Assistant Town Manager (ATM) acts as a liaison for interactions with the public, press, business leaders, legislators, attorneys and state and federal officials who wish to speak or meet with the Town Manager. The ATM acts as a “clearing house” to disseminate information to Town employees, the Select Board, Town Committees and Boards, and the public via email, and also by managing and regularly updating the Town's’s website and social media platforms. Additionally, the ATM assists with preparing other legal documents for the Town Attorney, assists the Manager with Town grants and special projects, preparing budgets, schedules usage of the French Conference Room.
